DS Table
The brief for architect Dan Svarth was to create a table large enough to seat the big family—long enough that smaller families can use one end of the table for a shared meal and the other end for work, yet simultaneously narrow enough that people can sit close to each other, can reach everything and can easily move around the table. The table has numerous defining features—a thinly milled elegant edge that curves inwards and gets thicker in the middle, sturdy legs placed at a comfortable distance from the table’s edge, so that they do not get in the way of people’s legs and upset the seating plan, and a structure that can be unscrewed to allow for flat-packing and easy transportation and storage.
