From fluid curves to geometric edges, the act of sculpting transforms material into form. This week, we highlight designs that exhibit a sculptural presence, showcasing pieces shaped by hand and eye, with precision, intention, and artistry. Whether cast in metal or carved in wood, each design below reveals the skill of the maker and the expressive potential of natural materials.

MUSUBI
Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec
The Musubi Armchair from Koyori showcases expert woodworking and a refined sense of proportion. Designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, the chair’s name refers to the act of tying, and this idea is expressed through the chair’s gently intersecting backrest and arm elements. Crafted from solid beech, oak, or black oak, each component is shaped to reveal the natural beauty of the wood while offering comfort and visual lightness.
QUATRE CENT
Entrelacs
The Quatre Cent Pendant brings a sculptural sensibility to lighting. Cast in solid bronze at the historic Ateliers Saint-Jacques foundry in France, the form reveals the hand of the artisan in every curve and contour. An alabaster shade is delicately framed by the bronze structure, offering a soft, diffused glow. The interplay of texture and translucence results in a fixture that feels carved rather than constructed. Quatre Cent is available as a pendant light, wall lamp, or table lamp.
PETAL
Craig Bassam
Inspired by the soft geometry of flower petals, the Petal Dining Armchair by BassamFellows is a study in sculptural precision and organic form. The seat and back are crafted from molded, contoured wood veneer, offering a lightweight structure that embraces the sitter with a gentle, ergonomic curve. Tapered solid wood legs connect seamlessly to the seat, maintaining the fluidity of the design. Available in oak or walnut, the Petal Armchair highlights the beauty of wood as a material shaped by skilled hands and a thoughtful eye.
METAL BENCH
Ole Schjøll
The Metal Bench designed by Ole Schjøll combines clean lines with a rugged material palette. In hand-polished stainless-steel, the bench shows off the blacksmith’s craftsmanship in a most impressive way: it takes three days to hand-polish the bench to a shine so deep you can see your reflection in it. This carefully crafted bench demonstrates how raw materials can be shaped into something refined and striking. Also available in a yellow powder-coated finish.
MODEL 65 ARMCHAIR
Niels Otto Møller
Designed by Niels O. Møller in 1968, the Model 65 chair embodies the Danish tradition of sculptural woodworking. Its gently curved backrest and smooth, flowing joints showcase the precision of hand-joined craftsmanship. The leather upholstery offers warmth and tactile contrast to the refined frame. Available in oak or walnut, the Model 65 creates comfort through form, with every curve and connection thoughtfully considered.
